Meet Our Leaders

David Cox, Chief Executive Officer

Dave has over 25 years of experience in post-acute care and rehabilitation and spent over 15 years as an occupational therapist specializing in spinal cord injury. Dave worked as a director of rehabilitation with St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute and as the executive director at Touchmark Retirement Community in Spokane, WA. This is Dave’s second tour with RHN, as he served as the hospital’s CEO from 2013 -2017. Dave and his wife are raising their twin children, Stephan and Catherine, in Spokane, WA. They both enjoy spending time outdoors and escaping to North Idaho whenever possible.

Dr. Sherwin Foster, Medical Director

Dr. Foster is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University and completed his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University and DC General Hospital. Dr. Foster also completed his nephrology training at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Foster has been with Ernest Health since 2007 and with Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest since 2013. He also works with North Idaho Nephrology Associates in Hayden, Idaho.

Dr. Foster enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Grant Drake, D.O., Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Associate Medical Director

Dr. Drake is a physical medicine & rehabilitation specialist. An Idaho native, he is a University of Idaho graduate and received his medical degree from Touro Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine with an internship at Larkin Community Hospital. Dr. Drake has been with Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest since August of 2021 and is vested in the continued education of our staff, constantly providing education and growing our team.

Dr. Drake enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two pomeranians in his spare time.

Anna-Liisa Pjesky, MSN, CRRN, Market Chief Nursing Officer & Chief Operating Officer

Anna-Liisa began her nursing career as a CNA in 2004. She worked at a regional hospital in ortho/neuro until she graduated with her ADN from North Idaho College in 2009. As a new RN, she transferred to inpatient rehabilitation and worked as an RN and charge nurse at a local hospital.  After some travel with family, Anna-Liisa returned to north Idaho and worked in a skilled care facility in a variety of nursing roles, including RN, wound and infection control nurse, nurse educator, and assistant director of nursing.

Anna-Liisa made the transition to RHN in 2013 and is proud to have taken care of the very first patient admitted to the hospital. At RHN, Anna-Liisa has worked as an RN, charge nurse, clinical liaison, and director of nursing.

Anna-Liisa also worked closely with North Idaho College Work Force Training Center to help develop the Restorative Aide Certification class for CNAs in 2014. Anna-Liisa, in her continued growth, pursued higher education in 2016 through Western Governor’s University RN-MSN program and worked in the Coeur d’Alene School District as a school nurse. She graduated with her MSN in nursing education in August 2020. In December 2020, she returned to RHN as the director of nursing operations and currently, as of 2022, is our first market chief nursing officer. Anna-Liisa is passionate about rehabilitation nursing and the impact rehabilitation has on returning patients to independence and quality of life.

Anna-Liisa maintains professional memberships with the American Nurses Association, the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau, an Honor Society of Nurses.

When not at work, Anna-Liisa enjoys outdoor activities, including wilderness backpacking, river kayaking, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, and spending time with her husband and four kids.

Nicole Rostron, Director of Patient Outcomes

Nicole has been with RHN since June of 2017, serving first as the director of nursing operations and most recently as the director of patient outcomes. Prior to RHN, she held nursing leadership positions in Arizona in rehabilitation, mixed medical-surgical-telemetry, and progressive inpatient care, as well as in-home health.

A north Idaho native, Nicole grew up in the Moscow/Pullman area. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her four your-adult children outdoors.

Lindsay Childs, Pharm D, Director of Pharmacy

Lindsay has over 20 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in the acute care and acute inpatient rehabilitation settings. Lindsay received her Doctor of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and completed a pharmacy practice residency at The Medical College of Georgia. Her previous work experience includes roles as pharmacy clinical coordinator for Trinity Hospital of Augusta in Augusta, GA, and director of pharmacy at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA.

Lindsay enjoys working at Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest because she loves the interdisciplinary approach to medicine that RHN has to offer. Lindsay appreciates the team effort taken to tailor medication regimens to each individual patient and to ensure that the regimen is medically appropriate and cost-effective at discharge.

When Lindsay is not at work, she enjoys golfing, playing the piano, and being outdoors with her husband and two boys.

Jaclyn Andrews, MSN, RN, Director of Clinical Compliance

Jaclyn wanted to become a nurse to make a difference in people’s lives. Nursing offers an endless opportunity for learning. Jaclyn is a strong advocate for education and learning to do a job well.

Jaclyn started her career journey as a certified nursing assistant, went on to nursing school, and graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She conferred her Master of Science in nursing leadership and education in December 2017. Jaclyn participated in the St. Mary’s New Graduate Program and had been an RN within St. Mary’s Hospital in Colorado for a little over five years before relocating to northern Idaho in 2018. She worked in the intensive care unit, cardiovascular ICU, neuro/trauma/stroke unit, telemetry, and float pool. Further on in her career, she became the nursing educator, compliance, and infection control specialist over rehabilitation, ortho-spine, and neuro/trauma/stroke unit. She also had a wonderful experience as an instructor in nursing studies for Colorado Mesa University.

Jaclyn is involved in the North Idaho Prevention Coalition. She is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology and Sigma Theta Tau, an Honor Society of Nurses.

She is married to a respiratory rherapist. They have three children and enjoy taking advantage of nature every chance they get. You may see them boating or camping throughout the year.

Travis Mendy, Director of Plant Operations

As a life-long resident of Northern Idaho, Travis has been a part of Ernest Health for over nine years as a maintenance mechanic. Travis also brings nine years of experience in Information and Technology, as well as over 15 years of janitorial and EVS.

Travis is an active member of the community and coaches youth sports. He loves the summer but enjoys wintertime activities.

His hobbies include playing sports, riding ATVs, road trips with the family and being an amazing single father to his two sons.

Amy Colbert, Director of Marketing and Business Development

Amy brings over 25 years of inpatient hospital experience, all from right here in Kootenai County. A medical social worker by trade, she brings her passion for advocating for patients and community health education together to help bring our world-class care to our community residents and surrounding areas. Amy grew up in our community and has built relationships across the healthcare continuum and continues to work with our community healthcare partners to bring the right care at the right time and in the right place to our patients in the region.

Amy enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren as well as traveling, being on the water, in the mountains, and enjoying everything our area has to offer.
